STATEMENT OF FAITH

The basis of these Statements of Faith/Belief and Practice of Mercy House Foundation/ Affordable Missionary Housing, it's owners and proprietors is as set forth in the historic Christian faith as contained in the Holy Bible. These statements as set forth in the following do not exhaust the extent of our faith in it's entirety.

The Bible itself is the sole and final source of all that we believe.

•  We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired by God, are inerrant and infallible in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life.

• We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

• We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true Man.

• We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and thereby incurred, not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in thought, word and deed. 

• We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood.

• We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His bodily ascension into heaven, and in His present life is there for us as a High Priest and Advocate at the right hand of God the Father.

• We believe in “that blessed hope”, the personal and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

• We believe that all who receive, by faith, the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby become the children of God.

• We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved unto everlasting life and blessedness in the presence of God, and the resurrection of the unsaved unto everlasting conscious punishment in hell.

• We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. We believe that God disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one’s gender by surgery or appearance.

• We believe that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman.

• We believe that Christians are prohibited from bringing civil lawsuits against other Christians or the ministry to resolve personal disputes. We believe the ministry possesses all the resources necessary to resolve personal disputes between believers.
